About Shao Xiaocheng

Shao Xiaocheng is a Chinese embroidery artist and the director of the Beijing Shao Xiaocheng Embroidery Research Institue (www.shanlinarts.com). She is a senior national master of arts and crafts and a member of the Internationale Organisation Für Volkskunst (IOV) of UNESCO. She has spent thirty years creating many pieces of embroidery whilst also researching the history, theories and practice of the art.
