Kansas City Star Quilts

Where Poppies Grow

by Denniele Bohannon & Janice Britz

Denniele Bohannon and Janice Britz have joined forces to create The Kansas City Star’s block-of-the-month quilt, 'Remembering Almo', to honour those who served their country during World War I.

Denniele’s great-grandfather Almo O’Kell served as a medic during World War I and was one of the many soldiers who never came home. Along with each beautiful block pattern, you get a little peek into O’Kell’s life as a soldier. Two-colour variations and setting options are given for the main quilt. Other projects are included as well. Three more striking quilts, two variations of a table runner and a sweet poppy pin and pincushion round out the projects offered.

  • This book has something for almost everyone! Piecers, appliquérs and block-of-the-month fans will find something to enjoy about the projects in this book
  • The book is based on 12 blocks that easily can be kitted for a year-long block-of-the-month program
