Shadow puppetry is one of the oldest recorded forms of theatre. But, as with many ancient crafts, it has been neglected and is only now being revived.
Any kind of puppet shown is always is huge source of entertainment for children of all ages, and often it is the adults who get equal enjoyment from staging them, both in the home and at school. It employs many talents: not only the craft of actually making the puppets, but imagination in building up stories round the characters made, acting ability, musical accompaniment and so on. There is no reason why you cannot "compose" your own "puppet musical"!
