The six design techniques are based on the acronym SCRAPS. Style is a personal choice, traditional, geometric patterns, folky etc. Constrast, more important than colour. Use a camera to check out colour values. Repetition, use one colour or shape in every block. Accent, one fabric to unite blocks e.g. as in sashing. Palette, limit colours to two or three. Selevedges are perhaps the mopst surprising, cut selvedges together by layering them to make striped fabric. Every area has two or more quilts for each technique. There are clear directions for many methods of piecing. It is an interesting approach to scrap quilts. It is my book of the month.
