We are a family run, Independent Publishing company operating for 55 years specialising in Arts and Crafts Publishing. We have a lovely, friendly team of 37, including a full warehouse and distribution operation. We publish around 100 new titles a year, plus a healthy backlist. We also offer distribution services to other publishers.

Rights and International Sales Executive 
 

Location: Tunbridge Wells – Wellwood, North Farm Road, Tunbridge Wells Kent TN2 3DR  

Reporting to: Sales and Marketing Director 

The Role 

The Rights part of this role will be responsible for driving income from co-edition and subsidiary rights. This includes securing licensing deals and sales across all formats (print, digital and other) including co-edition and file/film and royalty deals. In addition the role with be responsible for growing English Language international sales across the world (excluding the UK and Ireland). 

It requires developing and managing territories to build market knowledge, foster customer relationships and maximise revenue and profitability including working with agents where appropriate. 

You will organise Search Press's presence at and attend major book fairs to maximise English Language sales and rights opportunities and meet customers. 

You will maintain comprehensive product knowledge to inform sales and commissioning decisions and ensure accurate processing of rights deals working closely with editorial, production and accounts departments. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Working closely with the Trade Marketing Executive and the Sales and Marketing Director, the International Sales and Rights Executive will be responsible for: 

  • Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new sales opportunities across International (excluding UK) in both English Language and foreign editions 

  • Managing the full sales cycle from initial title presentation through to negotiation and sale (supported by the Sales and Marketing Director as needed!) 

  • Achieving and exceeding Sales Targets  

  • Preparing and delivering sales and rights presentations 

  • Maintaining excellent relationships with existing Customers, Buyers and the internal Search Press team 

  • Monitoring of competitor activity in the market.

 

Key Skills we’re looking for:  

 

  • Previous experience within a sales environment and knowledge of Rights business models and processes – for co-edition and licensing 

  • Strong negotiation skills, including ability to think creatively to optimize third party partnerships across cultures and languages 

  • Willingness to travel to overseas book fairs and to visit customers at their offices, travelling alone or with team as needed 

  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to understand all financial models pertaining to licensing and co-edition deals 

  • Adaptable, with strong organisational and time management skills to manage busy workloads 

  • System knowledge – possess or have ability to develop effective knowledge of all relevant systems in order to efficiently manage life cycle of rights deals

Sales Executive UK and Ireland

The Role 

The Sales Executive – UK & Ireland is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers (including Shopping Channels) across the UK and Ireland. The role is fast-paced and requires a commercially astute, organised, professional with strong communication skills, financial acumen and a solid understanding of the Trade sales processes. 

The Sales Executive will represent the company’s products and services, manage the full sales cycle, and contribute to the achievement of team sales objectives in line with the company’s strategic goals. 

This role offers an excellent opportunity for career progression, for the right candidate.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

Working closely with the Trade Marketing Executive and the Sales and Marketing Director, the Sales Executive for the UK and IRE will be responsible for:
