All the sixteen quilts are made using three size templates 3 1/2", 4 1/2" and 5 1/2" squares. These sizes offer sufficient variety to makie many blocks. The squares can be cut from real scraps i.e irregular shaped remnants, sometimes ignoring the grain, it is recommended to stay stitch the bias edges onto the traingles. Each quilt has a chart giving directions for quilts from cot to kingsize. One quilt snippets uses different right angle triangles leftovers from previous quilts, all smaller than 4" high.

There is nothing better than using up your scraps from quilting. Sometimes it can be difficult creating that special something out of scraps. This is where Judy's book helps support you into making the most amazing quilts. Judy has written this book with the reader in mind. She has written it to encourage quilters to feel unconfined and adventurous. She has designed the patterns so that you can use any fabric no matter how strange. I love the fact she hasn't used one size of scrap. She has used 3 1/2-, 4 1/2-, 5 1/2- inch blocks. The book starts by taking you through the basics and clear images and pictures are supplied throughout. She takes you through everything so that you can also create your own quilts
with your scraps. Then it's straight into the projects. Judy has supplied you with a complete template giving you all the different sizes of quilts you can make and how many blocks you will need to complete it. My favorite has to be the row of houses. It really shows that you can use any mix of fabrics and create an amazing quilt. This book is one I will be coming back to time and again.
Everytime I have enough scraps I'll be making another quilt from the book. A brilliant way to use up your scraps of fabric!
